How does your garden grow?

Regenerating the Chiltern Centre Garden

In conjunction with this year’s Chelsea Fringe Festival we are delighted to be launching a fundraising appeal to regenerate the Chiltern Centre garden.

We know that time outside, connecting with nature, revelling in the companionship of friends, enjoying fresh air and basking in the sun has huge benefits for physical and mental wellbeing . At the Chiltern Centre we are lucky to have a wonderful outside space that benefits from dappled sun and a warm feel. However, it is tired and in need of a makeover to make it a truly appealing space for our young people to enjoy and want to spend time in. So, we are embarking on a project to update our garden with zoned areas for relaxing, dining, enjoying nature, and taking part in planting, watering or weeding. With thanks to social enterprise, The Flower Union who have created a young and vibrant design whilst offering therapeutic spaces for connecting with nature and one another. Draft design can be found below.

With your support we can create a space that truly enhances the lives of young people with disabilities so that they can grow in confidence, learn new skills, and enjoy the outside world. Donate via text (information below) or VirginMoneyGiving and help us to empower young people with disabilities to live life to the full.

We are also welcoming in kind donations of items for the garden – please contact Harriet@chilterncentre.org.uk for more information.
