The Care we provide

The Chiltern Centre is located in a quiet cul-de-sac off Greys Road in Henley on Thames,  and ample parking is provided.  We offer short break respite care for children and young people from the age of 2 to 25 years with physical and/or learning disabilities and complex health needs.  The warm welcoming environment is fully adapted.  Safeguarding of the children and young people is paramount and is reflected in the buildings’ security systems.

The Centre has five bedrooms, following an extension added 2 bedrooms. This new extension has also added extra office space, a meetings room and a fully equipped bathroom to complement the existing facilities.  It will enable further development of services.  The Centre has a multi-sensory room, an attractive lounge and dining area with TV and computers.  Outside offers a safe and secluded garden with colourful purpose built play equipment – fun for all.

The highly skilled diverse staff team – from Disability Nurses, playworkers, teachers, social care workers and complimented by some very dedicated volunteers - support the children and young people.   Overnight care is provided by waking night and on-call staff.

The Centre is registered with Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission which enables us to offer a range of provisions.   Ofsted inspections have seen the Centre being awarded “Outstanding” from 2006 to 2011 inclusive. We provide many services to families and because we are an independent charity are able to be very flexible, offering help and support to meet particular needs.
