About The Chiltern Centre

Disabled children, young people and their families have been at the heart of The Chiltern Centre since it was established in 2004, in direct response to the needs of local families.

Originally setup to provide essential short break services for children and young people with severe learning and/or physical disabilities, today The Chiltern Centre offers a full range of care services. Our services include well established and recognised expertise for those on the Autistic Spectrum and/or with complex health and medical needs.

Our Mission is ‘to help children and young people with disabilities to live life to the full while providing support to their families in their vital role of caring.’  We provide individually tailored support which meets the specific needs of each child, young person and their family.

The Chiltern Centre for Disabled Children is an independent organisation and registered charity. We are registered with both Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission and are dedicated to maintaining a standard of excellence in the provision of care.

We are proud to have achieved an Outstanding Provider award from Ofsted for 2006/7, 2007/8, 2008/9 and 2009/10.

We now support 85 families across the Thames Valley and South Oxfordshire - from a few hours after school once a week, weekly youth clubs or a half-day in the holidays to overnight care and even multi-day breaks.
